Ime za knjigo prihaja iz Biblije, in sicer iz knjige Razodetja, kjer avtor govori o propadanju civilizacije; in iz propadlega sveta se rodi nov svet, »Nova Nebesa in Nova Zemlja.« Eckart Tolle pravi, da gre za simboličen jezik, ki govori o stanju človeštva in o procesu transformacije. Namreč notranji svet predstavljajo nebesa, medtem ko je zemlja posledica notranjega sveta in se izraža kot manifestacija tega. Ravno zaradi tega je pomembneje fokusirati se na notranje stanje, saj ko notranje preobrazimo sebe, se ta sprememba odraža na vseh nivojih, tako političnih, socialnih, ekonomskih in ostalih strukturah, ki so bazirale na ego naravnanem stanju zavedanja. Tukaj smo, da transformiramo notranje stanje vse ostalo pride samodejno, pravi Eckhart Tolle.
Nova Zemlja, ena močnejših knjig, ki na preprost način razloži še tako navidezno nerazumljive vzorce in norost, v katero je pahnjeno človeštvo več tisočletij in kjer posledično, dojamemo tako stanje, kjer civilizacija temelji na strahu, nespoštovanju in uničevanju, kot nekaj normalnega in celo sprejemljivega. Eckhart Tolle nas skozi deset poglavij povabi, da prepoznamo omejitve in jih presežemo, seveda prvo pri sebi. Šele ko spoznamo Resnico, se lahko zavedamo veličastnosti bitja, a pot do tega vodi preko sporočila »Spoznaj sebe!«, kakor je med drugim tudi zapisano tudi v delfskem preročišču. In s tem, ko osvetlimo in transformiramo tiste nezavedne dele v sebi, pripomoremo k spreminjanju tudi kolektive zavesti.
V knjigi je med drugim zelo dobro razloženo delovanje ega in kaj sploh ego je; ob tem izpostavljam zelo preprosto razlago, ki pravi, kadarkoli se čutiš komurkoli nadrejenega ali podrejenega, to je tvoj ego. Prav tako je zanimiv opis bolečinskega jedra, kjer pravi, da se bolečina na vsake toliko nahrani in se kot lačna zver zbudi in kreira dramo, preko katere dobi svoj obrok. In če to preneseš na kolektivno, je potem razumljivo, zakaj se na določenih področjih vedno znova ponavljajo iste zgodbe, le da enkrat v imenu vere, drugič v imenu kralja, tretjič v imenu katerekoli pač ideologije, razloga ali povoda.

Eckhart Tolle, rojen 16. februarja 1948, kot Ulrich Leonard Tölle v mestu Lünnen je v Nemčiji preživel prvih trinajst let. Po diplomi na Univerzi v Londonu je začel delati kot raziskovalec in doktorski kandidat na Univerzi v Cambridgeu. Ko je bil star 29 let, je doživel globoko duhovno preobrazbo. Pred tem je dolga leta trpel za depresijo in ko se je neke noči zbudil z željo po samomoru, saj ni mogel več prenašati neznosne bolečine, se je vprašal, kdo je ta, ki ne more več živeti z menoj? S tem vprašanjem se je zgodil premik, ki ga imenuje kot raztapljanje ega. Po tej izkušnji pravi, kakor da je prvič videl svet in vse se mu je zdelo čudežno; spremljal ga je občutek globoke spokojnosti in miru. Pustil je študij in v popolni blaženosti živel dve leti kot brezdomec. Naslednja leta je posvetil razumevanju, povezovanju in poglabljanju te preobrazbe. Nanj se je obračalo vse več ljudi, ki so jih zanimale njegove življenjske izkušnje in tako je sčasoma začel v Londonu delati kot svetovalec. Od leta 1996 živi v Vancouvru v Kanadi ter potuje, predava in vodi seminarje ter delavnice po vsem svetu.

The name of the book comes from the Bible, from the book Revelations, where the author talks about the collapse of civilization; and from the collapsed world a new world is born, “New Heaven and New Earth.” Eckart Tolle says that it is a symbolic language and is about the state of humanity and the process of transformation. The inner world is represented by the heavens, while the earth is the reflection of the inner world and is expressed as a manifestation of this. That’s why it is more important to focus on the internal state because when we transform ourselves internally, this change is reflected at all levels, political, social, economic, and other structures that were based on the ego-oriented state of awareness. We are here to transform the internal state and everything else comes automatically, says Eckhart Tolle.
A New Earth is one of the most powerful books, which explains seemingly incomprehensible patterns and insanity of mankind that has been driven for thousands of years, and where, we perceive a civilization based on fear, disrespect, and destruction as something normal and even acceptable. Eckhart Tolle invites us to the inward journey in ten chapters and to recognize the limitations and to overcome them. Only when we know the Truth we can be aware of the magnificence of the being, but the path to this is guided by the message “Know yourself!”, as it’s also written in the Delphi oracle. And by illuminating and transforming those unconscious parts within ourselves, we contribute to changing the collective consciousness as well.
The book, among others, explains very well the functioning of the ego and what it is. As Eckhart points out a very simple explanation that says, whenever you feel superior or subordinate, this is your ego. He gives also an interesting description of the pain body, as an entity that feds from drama, so time to time this entity becomes hungry and creates conflict so it could be fed. And if you transfer this to a collective pain body, it is easy to understand why in some places the same stories repeat itself over and over again.
One thing we do know: Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at this moment.
Eckhart Tolle, born Ulrich Leonard Tölle, February 16, 1948, in the city of Lünnen spent the first thirteen years in Germany. After graduating from the University of London, he began working as a researcher and doctoral candidate at the University of Cambridge. When he was 29 years old, he experienced a deep spiritual transformation. Before that, he suffered long depression, and one night he woke up with a desire to commit suicide because he could no longer bear the pain, and ”couldn’t live with me anymore”, and at that moment he asked, who is the I who can’t live with me? With this question, a shift happened that ended with ego collapsing. And for the first time, he saw the world and everything seemed miraculous, accompanied by a feeling of deep tranquility and peace. He left his studies and lived in perfect bliss for two years as a homeless person. The next few years were devoted to understanding, integrating, and deepening that transformation, which marked the beginning of an intense inward journey. Later, he began to work in London with individuals and small groups as a counselor and spiritual teacher. Since 1996 he has been living in Vancouver, Canada, traveling, teaching, and giving seminars and workshops around the world.
